Anyone else going to watch this? I'm really interested to see John Basilone's story since there's a Basilone road that's near Camp Pendleton marine base down in my area.

For historical sake, my mom and her family were living on Oahu when Pearl was attacked. They saw B-17s make emergency landings at Bellows Air Force base in Waimanalo on the eastern side of the island. Here's a cool animation.

The interesting part for my family is that my mom is Japanese. While they were allowed to carry on with their lives in Hawaii, my grandmother's sister who lived in California was interned in Tule Lake, CA. My uncle enlisted and was part of the "Go For Broke" 442nd regiment. They were the lead force in rescuing the "lost battalion" of Texans at Biffontaine, France. To anyone who remembers the war in Texas, the members of the 442nd still get a heroes welcome.

Anyway, that's my babbling on this...lol

Yeah, I've been waiting for this to show since before there were trailers for the series. It has double the budget than Band of Brothers, and hopefully will have interviews with Marines, like they had with Army dogs in Band of Brothers.

Let's hope Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg do an excellent job.:)

Yup, just as expected, there were interviews with Marine veterans, and it was very VERY good. They show how each side fought and treated each other, it was a very brutal fight.

I linked another great "mini-series" that was on History. All new footage that they searched all over the world for. Also showed the human side with stories of men and women who played their parts in the war in Europe and Pacific.
